Liberia's port transformation gains regional dimension as NPA engages Abidjan
Liberia is pursuing deeper cooperation and technical knowledge-sharing among West African ports as it intensifies maritime infrastructure modernisation.

MONROVIA, Liberia — Liberia is seeking deeper regional cooperation and technical knowledge-sharing among West African ports, with the National Port Authority's leadership engaging counterparts in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, on port modernisation and operational best practice.
The engagement forms part of a broader national push to modernise Liberia's maritime infrastructure — from gate automation and security systems at the Freeport of Monrovia to longer-term capacity planning across the country's ports.
Regional alignment matters for cargo owners: harmonised procedures, shared technical standards and coordinated development raise the reliability of West African corridors as a whole. Ducor Terminals supports regional cooperation that improves the competitiveness of Liberian trade gateways.
