Liberia and China strengthen maritime safety cooperation
The Liberia Maritime Authority welcomed a technical delegation from China's Maritime Safety Administration to deepen cooperation on fleet quality, regulatory compliance and Port State Control.

MONROVIA, Liberia — The Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) has welcomed a delegation from the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) of the People's Republic of China for a technical engagement aimed at strengthening maritime safety, fleet quality, regulatory compliance and Port State Control cooperation between the two flag and port administrations.
Discussions covered inspection standards, flag-state performance, information exchange on vessel safety, and closer working relations between surveyors and Port State Control officers in both jurisdictions. Liberia operates one of the world's largest ship registries, making consistent safety oversight with major trading partners a strategic priority.
For terminal operators, stronger flag- and port-state alignment translates into safer vessel calls, smoother inspections and fewer operational delays at berth. Ducor Terminals supports these cooperation efforts and maintains terminal procedures aligned with international safety and security requirements.
